Location Details

Calgary's Beltline is among the most livable communities in Canada, drawing comparisons with Vancouver's Yaletown or Belltown in Seattle. Famous as the Red Mile for the 2004 Calgary Flames playoff run which saw the neighbourhood packed to the brim with fans decked out in Flames' red; there's a lot more to this neighbourhood than that celebratory spirit which dominates when the Flames are playing.

 

Bordered by 14th St. SW on one side and the rippling waters of the Elbow River on the other, Calgary's Beltline is the central neighbourhood that provides the transition from downtown to the rolling residential hills of Mount Royal, Bankview, and beyond. In downtown without being of downtown, the Beltline is host to some of the city's best dining, shopping, culture, and nightlife. Coffee offerings like nowhere else, including the best examples of the city's patio and café culture. With pubs of all kinds, craft breweries, and high-end mixology at places like the Hotel Arts, there are always new frontiers of fun to explore.

 

Though the Beltline is famous for its top-tier restaurants and hip nightclubs, it's not the nightlife but the "daylife" which has driven this community's all-around livability. Highly walkable and boasting many transit options, there's no need to own a car when you live here (but we have plenty of parking if you do). Shopping abounds and cultural offerings are not about finding something to do but deciding which thing you'll have to skip so you can fit in all of your other fun. Close to work, school, and study, but also close to parks for picnicking and incredible amenities like the Talisman Center.
